Jody de Vos was born on January 23, 1978 on Herm Island, Channel Islands.

When Jody was about to be born, I had to leave our little island home, just 1 1/2miles long and half a mile wide, and travel across the sea in a catamaran to Guernsey Hospital. But when it came to leave the Hospital, there was a wild storm out in the English Channel and i couldnt sail home with my baby in arms. So we spent a few days with the skipper of the boat and his wife, Charley and Adey. As they had no children, Jody spent the first few days of his life,  sleeping in a drawer from a chest of drawers, on top of their dining table. 

This was the first little story in his life of  adventure. x
